Thought today's ippt at Maju could get gold. Trial run on 4 days ago, manaegd to clock a 9mins48sec timing for 2.4km. But today, only managed a 10.59! Thats more than 1 min slower! Upon reflection, i need more training! Two points that i learned. No 1. The trial run was done when i was totally fresh, no static stations before the run. But for ippt, had to complete 4 stations b4 the run. body has already expended some energy. No 2. My legs need more strength to run across the slope without tiring. the slopes at maju made me slow down a bit. first round was good, 3.06. second round was slow, 3.27. when i saw my 2nd round timing, i knew cannot hit gold liao, third round totally got no motivation.

Therefore, i've decided to focus on 2 kinds of trainings for the month of Jan. Firstly, its hill interval attacks. short sprints up the slope, interval style would definitely get my legs accustomed to running up slope. can already feel the burn in my arse after attacking the slope at end of bukit batok nature park. 4x30s upslope, with 30s walking down in between sets. Secondly, to increase leg strength by doing plyometrics and squats at home. Its gonna be sweet. :D

DUTCH!!!!

Cousin shawnybombom stayed over at our place yesterday. while he and darren were battling out a shooting game on the computer, i was looking at them enjoy the fight. I'm back from camp! What an experience it has been, really a defining moment in my life. :D

1. God never lets me go
2. Never let go of one another
3. Never let go of the dreams that Daddy God has placed in my heart

I was feeling rather sick on the day before camp, even on the day of camp itself, i was bugged by sore throat. Thanks for all the prayers cos God really sustained me through His grace. Thank you Daddy God! For loving me and seeing me through. I am the healed of the LORD! Just came back from camp, and its already 10plus at night. So tired!

There was a really down moment that i had in camp. Which lasted for about 2hours. Haha. Just to share on the wonders of renewing my strength in the Lord just by praising him in the shower! and how that 'upside down' turned into 'right side up'!

During war games, we were split into four groups of at least 50 a group. each group was given a catapult to launch waterbombs into the enemy base. however, the catapult was so poorly built that it broke even before we succesfully launched any waterbomb into the enemy territory. our group decided to rebuild the catapult to make it better. while it was almost done, the trainer said that we could just use the broken pole with a metal tin attached, to swing the waterbomb into enemy territory. So i placed a waterbomb into the metal tin and one of the guys swung a it into enemy territory. it went far enough but wasnt that accurate. So i tried the next one. I took a good aim and swung it over. ALAS! I saw the metal tin flying in the air towards the group! My heart almost flew out of my mouth when i saw that! And my deadly aiming meant that it was bound to get someone. (one guy mentioned it was a really good shot) SO i ran over and there was a girl holding her head with her hand, and looking utterly in shock. I felt so bad about hurting her. The game was cancelled beacuse of that incident. THey quickly hurried her to receive first aid. And i was left feeling really bad about it. (guilty even). Many people told me it wasnt my fault, there is therefore now no condemnation in Christ, just move on. I know all these, but somehow it was really hard to apply when the time really calls for it. Leaders asked me what happened, i told them and they assured me that it is really not my fault but the game organisers' fault for they had not ensured the safety of the equipment. I guess they could tell that i really felt responsible for it. and wanted to make sure i was ok. After debriefing, i quickly went to look for the victim and was so relieved that it wasn't a serious injury. Thank God that she was protected and just suffered a baluku. After apologising, i still couldnt get over it. Thats when the guys in my group were really caring, encouraging me with kind words. But it still wasnt enough. I had to take it to the Lord. we all went to shower before dinner, and i just kept singing the song 'Jesus loves me'. Throughout the shower of ten minutes, i felt such a warm outpouring of his love on me, and that despite what i had done (even unintentionally), i heard his voice assured that everything is ok and He's gonna take care of priscilla (the baluku girl), and his loving voice telling me not to take it to my heart, and that i am still the beloved of God. Really felt renewed with so much peace and strength that couldnt have possibly come from anywhere else except from God himself. And i thank Daddy God for the wonderful experience he taught me using this incident. Truly, all things work for good for those who love God. Even bad things. :)
Well after dinner, went to check with the sister to see how she is and asked for her forgiveness and all is well! YAY!

Conclusion: Praising God = Renewing Strength

First day that you flew away, i falling sick!

Hey! From 2.40pm to 5 plus he wasn't in his office! Kept going back to see if he's in, but he just wasn't in. Today shall go and find him again. Hope he's in! No worries! Right place, right time. Time and chance happen to them all.

Also resolved a great misunderstanding today with TM club. Really great that the air is cleared and members can be in peace now. Not just the major things like health, or family, or career. Even the little things like my design project! Numerous times, my group has been stuck while we were doing the project. However, God never fails! Each time i'm stuck, i would just utter under my breath, and telepathy to God that i need help, wisdom and a revelation. Hallelujah Praise the Lord, everytime i receive His Favor. So much so that my group project member told me this: "You are very good. Everytime we are stuck, you are the one that solve our problems." Truly it is God's glory. His favor is on me! Then after finishing our project, i was fretting over writing the report, don't know how to start. That night itself, again I received favor. Met a new friend who was from my course, but she has just graduated. she is gonna pass me her report for reference. Thank God for all the blessings, big and small.

I am trusting God for a great portion for my FYP. Even though it seems like nothing much has been done. I know that God is gonna make it turn out great! Just like what Rina, Ben and Sean shared. God cares, He can turn things around, and He is preparing the way. I love my God, because He loves me so. Don't recall any poor mental thoughts that went through my mind. There was a rascal kept jumping on me and biting my feet. Rascal's a jack russell that belongs to my neighbour. Went to their house to give tuition to Christine and the dog was just so hyperactive. kept biting and jumping on me wanted to play with me. When he tried to bite my hands, i raised them. Haha! Then it got tiring, so i folded them. So he cant bite anywhere else but my feet. After a while, he realised i was boring and sat down quietly. LOL. Thats the way to handle a active dog, be inactive! Nice trick i learnt.

Day 2!

Late post. Haha yesterday was too tired to blog. Sat nite coulnt sleep at all la! Must have been the iced mocha elephanccino. Lied an hour on bed until 2am still couldnt sleep. In the end slept at 4 and woke up at 8plus. So i was so tired the whole day. Went to suntec early to celebrate CGL's birthday!

The bday surprise was really a great combined effort. The power of having a group coming together to plan something really makes it a much greater success. Different people with different resources. They bought a cake and flowers for her. But the thing is don't know how to get her to go to a place to hold the celebration at suntec. They wanted to go sky garden, so i suggested i say i broke my leg while walking on sky garden. should have taped down their facial expressions after i said that. was obviously not well received. Then i suggested i say something wrong with my bike, need some help at the carpark. haha. So the plan was to sms Judy at that i ran into some problems with my bike at the carpark, and hopefully she will be concerned enough to come down. Guess what she said! She replied, 'ok sure. talk to you later.' LOL. Good thing had a backup plan. Smsed Kar Yong telling him to come help me. Then he managed to get Judy down.

At the service, accidentally poured more than half of my holy communion blood away. With what little was left, i was thinking, eh so little. But then i thought again, actually in the physical it seems very little, but its not the amount that matters. Its the fact that Jesus blood has already clesnsed us and made us the righteousnes of God. Again, this was the main point of the sermon preached. When we are hungry we eat. When we are thirsty we drink. When we need a miracle? We believe. A lot of people said pray, but pastor said believe. Faith(belief) comes from the hearing of the word of God(word of righteousness). For seeking the kingdom of righteousness, all these things will be added unto you. It pleases God when man believe upon the finished work of Jesus that imparts all righteousness unto us.

After service went to my uncle's house, and played monopoly with my cousins. The brother just play to win la! very strong desire to win, told him many times that playing game is just for enjoyment, not play to win. The younger sis could understand that, but he just wanted to win. Lol. Kids ar, all so different. After that, they came my house and darren had a graet time playing with them. Making so much noise. Trying to do pull ups and one arm pushups, just so hilarious, that they keep trying even though they cant.

At night went to miramar hotel with my uncle's family and darren. wow the jap food is really nice! The sashimi we had was so fresh and good. i think i ate too much, lol. stomach was so full. It was a fun day. Thank God for your favor each and everyday!

Back to Day 1 again!

Today is such a great day man! Greatly blessed by my engineer friends. Went to school to help them out with their project. Was being interviewed and took about 3 to 4 takes before it was finally good. I was shocked when they said they wanted to treat me to NYDC for helping them. Thank God for wonderful friends! Had a great time catching up, sharing jokes and all at the dinner table while enjoying NYDC's '3 amigos baked rice'. 5 of us there, 4 amigos ordered 3 amigos. And also slurping up their elephanccinos, seemed to be less sweet already.

After reading 'The blessings of Favor' that my CGL lent me. i start to see how the favor of God operates. Its truly great. God's favor doesnt just operate in the major things of our lives. Even in the small little things of daily life, we can also ask for God's favor. Like today, missed a turning at first and had to make one big round back to the carpark. Then the verse 'all things work for the good for those who love Him' came to mind. So i said, alright, i know even though i turned into a wrong turning, wasted some time, God is going to turn it around for good. I asked for God's favor and believed that there would be a lot even when it seems impossible. Guess what! WHen i got to the carpark, immediately a bike came out and right in front of me was an empty lot. This car park is really packed, and people usually park illegally beside the lots. But i don't like to park illegally, because i never can have peace of mind if i parked illegally. I'll keep thinking whether the carpark auntie will come and sarman me. I was so happy when i received that favor in the form of a parking lot. Thank you Daddy God!!!

Day 3 failed!

I can't take it! I was set up for an appointment with my supervisor at 4pm. I reached his office at 4pm, and i saw him walking out. So i thought he was going to the toilet or something, so i waited outside the office. Then i saw him walk out of the building with a group of his friends. I thought, ok maybe he's going to have tea break for short while. I can understand that, sometimes in a group, its hard to control what time u go for tea break. Maybe he didn't go for tea break, it could be just a group meeting or something. I'm not sure.

I waited and waited and waited. Until 430pm i decided to write a note, leave it on his table so that he can call me when he reaches back. Guess what? At 5pm, i received an email from him, saying he cannot make it. Can't believe he did that.

That's how it failed. haha. thinking back, there's so much speculation on my part. He must have been really very busy, otherwise he wouldn't have stood me up. Kinda irritating to be stood up. And this got me thinking, how can i be positive when all things seem negative?

All things work for the good for those who love Him. I stand strong on that verse. Even when circumstances are seemingly bad, hopeless, irritating, I can always count on my Daddy God to turn it around for His good! Alright! I can count on God's favor and grace on all things.

Anyway, i heard from a friend from United States, he said that redoxon was fed to seagulls, and the seagull's died from a mini stomach explosion! So cool. I should feed some of those mynahs that come my house some redoxon.

Day 2 of mental diet program

Day 2! Ok, caught myself thinking some negative thoughts, thats all, didn't mouth them out. Haha. Can't really remember the exact things though. But today i'm really glad i met up with my FYP post graduate student, he helped me get things going! Thank God for the favor he has shown me today!

And also to my brother, Darren. He's really a LOL. I think i'm getting the hang of it. Just realised that its quite easy for me to do this. Maybe i've been doing this without me knowing for quite some time already. But anyway, just to be more aware of it, and cautious during these 7 days to catch myself saying something negative. Haha.

Quite enjoyable gyming at NUS. Especially with dawnie. So cute to see her exercising with me. Enjoyed it and there will be many more times exercising together! Right? Haha. When your better, can start swimming again. Thinking over what you said about all guys are colorful, and indeed! Its not the color that made us, its the love. Just like how Daddy God made Adam and Eve caused he loved them, even before they were made, he already held an image of them in His mind. Wonderfully and fearfully made! All of us!

This is the day the Lord has made!

This is the day the Lord has made, I shall rejoice and be glad in it! Awesome day. Had a great time with friends. Treated me to mellben at Toa Payoh for my belated birthday celebration. Very grateful to them for this very loving gesture. Definitely a blessing and favor of God. Thank you Lord for friends! Though really felt like eating the crabs, I didn't as Gideon, Zong Geng and Gaylin were allergic to them. Had an enjoyable time chatting about cars, carparks, and even heard a fun place to have adventure. Bedok Adventure forest! Sounds like an exciting place. Will visit there one of these days.

Resident Evil is really cool! The hero slayed zombies non-stop. Reminded me of David slaying Goliath. But before David could even do that, God had to prepare him. He slayed bears and lions as training, before giants became food for him. I'm sure God is training all believers to slay bears and lions and to feed on giants as food! Then the world may see the glory of God. What an honor to be used by God for His purposes.

Anyway, I decided to start a 7 day mental diet. Starting from tomorrow! Shall update the progress daily. The 7 day mental diet is to abstain from saying anything negative for 7days. Everytime I catch myself saying something negative, I'll have to restart the count again. I just believe its going to be a mind-changing, life-empowering, God-exalting 7 day mental diet plan!

Its getting worse?

Yesterday my mum and I went to fetch 2 of our relatives to church. I dropped them off at the Suntec gallery for the hokkien service and went with my mum to the carpark to park the car. I got off first as i had to release some waste. URGENTLY! By the time i got to the Rock, it was already 1115am. By then, the queue was already amazingly long, so i went to the overflow room at level 6 to find my friend.

A couple entered the lift from level 3, the woman said this: "Its getting worse. So many people." Her husband replied: "Yeah, last week was worse." I guess they were referring to the queue, and that more and more people are coming to church to hear God's word. So much so that they couldn't get a seat in the Rock auditorium.

I laughed in my heart. Because i was thinking the exact opposite as they. I thought to myself, "Its getting great!" More and more people are getting saved, hearing the gospel of Grace, bondages being set free, inheritance being claimed, positions as Sons of God being established. Getting worse? NO WAY! ITS GETTING BETTER! Praise The Lord for the multitudes coming forth to hear the Gospel of Grace!

Why are some believers held back from the favor of God?

Yesterday, i was asked a question. What is it about Christians that is different from other students on campus? Immediately the answer came to my head. My friend and I had discussed this before. We were new Christians at that time, but it didn't take very smart people to see, that somehow Christians live very blessed lifes! It is evident God is with them and they are a blessed people.

Immediately, there was resistance from people. God-loving people. They feel that Christians are not necessary blessed people. I was disturbed by what they said. One went on to say, look at Jesus disciples, many of them died horrible deaths. That should prove that it doesn't mean being a Christian would guarantee a good life.

The bible says in Psalms 5:12 Surely, O Lord, you would bless the righteous, you will surround them with your favor, as with a shield. I strongly believe that God is a good God that doesnt withhold good things from us! Matthew 7:11 says If you, then though you are evil, know how to give good giftsto your chidren, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

I don't know why people want to say that God is good but sometimes people suffer as he withholds his blessings. Maybe they want me to say that God is a God that does not bless all believers, does not heal all believers, does not save all believers. I choose to give glory to God by proclaiming God is a God that saves, that heals, that blesses his people, because He loves them.

We know God's desire is for all to be saved. But in an auditorium, even if the best evangelist preaches to thousands of unbelivers, will all be saved? No! Hundreds may walk out unsaved. God's desire is for all his people to be blessed, to enjoy the abundant life that Christ came to give by truth and grace. But, there are still believers living in poverty, debt and lack. God is a mighty healer and his desire is for all his people to be strong and healthy. The bible says that there was none of his people feeble during the 40 years they were in the wilderness. NONE feeble. But, there are still believers who are sick today.

I asked Daddy God, Daddy Daddy, why would this happen? Why are some of your people not saved, not blessed not healed? I heard him say: this is not from me, it is from the devil. Anyone who isnt saved, isnt healed, isnt blessed is in some way held in bondage in lies. Because as Sons of God, we have our portion(inheritance) of God through Christ. I believe that if you are a believer and reading this, and you feel that you are in some way being held back from the blessings and favor of God, confess this verse. Psalms 5:12 Surely, O Lord, you would bless the righteous (In Christ you are made the righteousness of God) , you will surround them with your favor, as with a shield.

Some people may not be saved, may not be blessed, may not be healed. But aren't you glad for those who are saved, those who are blessed and those who are healed! Praise God for that! And all the glory goes to Jesus. It is all because of Jesus. Hallelujah!

So little, means so much

Recently, the 'American Idol gives back' was shown on TV. They wanted to raise money for the Africans to help feed them, educate them and provide healthcare for them. Together, the american idols made a call on the show, for citizens of US to donate to charity, whatever little they can give. Donations can be made in small amounts, $5, $10, $20. Millions of people donated. Over US$70 million was collected! To us its so little, but together, its so much. So little, means so much.

Millions of people die from starvation in Africa. It is a common sight to see young people with bodies so thin and frail, just skin and bones. Food is scarce. With people living each day not knowing whether there will be food for tomorrow. Parents slowly see their children grow thinner and weaker, and many do not make it. Many who pass away, are children and babies who die from malnutrition. For as little as 50 cents a day, each baby or child could be fed, for one day. So little, means so much.

In Singapore, we hear it so often from students. "School is boring. I don't like studying. Cannot use handphone. Cannot dye hair. Too strict with rules." In Africa, it is a dream come true, for children to be able to go to school. Children live each day, without much to look forward to. For as little as 50 cents a day, a child could go to school, for one day. So little, means so much.

AIDS is widespread in Africa. Many parents do not even know they have AIDS. Their offspring are infected once they are born. When the AIDS virus starts attacking their bodies, their immune system rapidly crumbles. Without medical attention, their bodies grow weaker with each passing day. Neighbours know what is going on, and when they see both parents die, they go into the house to bring the orphan out to stay with them. 13 people squeezing in a hut the size of a HDB bedroom. For as little as $1 a day, they could receive medication, to prolong their life by one day. So little, means so much.

Africa might be too far away. But look nearer. Everyone needs a little generosity, kindness, and love. A cheerful smile, a warm hello, a gentle pat, a friendly nod, a loving hug, an affectionate kiss. That's all it takes, its just that simple. Your family need it, your friends need it, even strangers need it. It might be little but it means so much.

Mother's day is here. A smile to mum is little. A kind word of encouragement to mum is little. A small gesture of kindness to mum is little. 5 minutes away from the TV to talk to mum is little. Calling mum up is little. Giving a hug to mum is little. So little, means so much.
